Drug war continues; Drug peddler arrested in Anantnag | KNO

Srinagar, January 09 (KNO) : Continuing its campaign “War against drugs”, Anantnag police has arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession. Acting on a tip off, Anantnag police laid a naka in the jurisdiction of Police Post Sangam, Bijbehara. During naka checking the police party which was headed by DO Sangam overpowered a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot. On his checking 550 grams of charas in shape of Ganderyia was recovered from his possession. On initial questioning the said person disclosed his name as Reyaz Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Ashraf Shah resident of Detikoat Kupwara. A case FIR number 05/18 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation was taken up. (KNO)
